Rear Turn Light Bulb Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Insert the remover tool into the service hole at the position shown in the figure.

  3. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and pull out the service hole cover tab from the rear combination light.

  4. Remove the service hole cover.
  5. Remove the screws in the order of (1) and (2).

    CAUTION:
    • When removing the rear combination light from the body, it could interfere with the body and cause scratching or damage to the body. When removing the rear combination light from the body, apply protective tape to the body.
  6. To prevent scratches or damage, affix protective tape to the position shown in the figure.

  7. Pull the rear combination light in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and pull out the pin and the hook from the body.

  8. Remove the rear combination light short-cord from the hook.

  9. Turn the socket counterclockwise and remove it in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure.

    CAUTION:
    • The rear combination light short-cord may be damaged when temporarily installing the rear combination light. When performing the procedure, observe the following points.
      • Pull out the socket from within the socket pull-out range shown in the figure.
      • Do not push the rear combination light into the vehicle with force.
    • When temporarily installing the rear combination light, cover the rear bumper rear combination light installation surface with a soft cloth. The rear bumper may be scratched or damaged if the rear combination light contacts it.
  10. Temporarily install the rear combination light with the socket pulled out of the top of the rear combination light.

    CAUTION:
    • If there is oil or dirt on the surface of the light bulb, excessive heat will build up and the life of the light bulb will be shortened. If the light bulb glass area is touched, wipe off any dirt using a soft cloth dampened with detergent diluted in water (approx. 5 %).
  11. Remove the rear turn light bulb.

  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
