Cargo Compartment Light Bulb Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
    CAUTION:
    • Always disconnect the negative battery cable before performing the cargo compartment light bulb removal. Otherwise, the circuit may be shorted resulting in damage to the related parts such as the rear body control module (RBCM).
  2. To prevent scratches or damage, affix protective tape to the position shown in the figure.
    CAUTION:
    • If a flathead screwdriver is inserted into the gap between the cargo compartment light and lens, the liftgate lower trim could interfere with the flathead screwdriver and be damaged. When removing the lens from the cargo compartment light, perform the procedure after affixing protective tape to the liftgate lower trim.

  3. Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the gap between the lens and cargo compartment light shown in the figure.

  4. Move the flathead screwdriver in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to detach the lens tabs from the cargo compartment light.
  5. Remove the lens.

  6. Press the spring in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to detach the spring from the cargo compartment light bulb.
  7. Remove the cargo compartment light bulb.
  8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
