Rear Map Light Bulb Removal/Installation

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION
.)CAUTION:
- When inserting the remover tool in the gap between the rear map light and the lens, the remover tool could interfere with the rear map light and scratch or damage it. When removing the lens from the rear map light, apply protective tape to the rear map light.
- To prevent scratches or damage, affix protective tape to the position shown in the figure.
- Press the lens to assure a space for inserting the remover tool.
- Insert the remover tool into the gap between the rear map light and the lens shown in the figure.
- Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull out the lens from the pin.
- Remove the lens.
- Widen the rear map light spring in the direction of the arrows (1) shown in the figure to detach the spring from the rear map light bulb.
CAUTION:
- If there is oil or dirt on the surface of the light bulb, excessive heat will build up and the life of the light bulb will be shortened. If the light bulb glass area is touched, wipe off any dirt using a soft cloth dampened with detergent diluted in water (approx. 5 %).
- Remove the rear map light bulb.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
