Sunroof Unit Removal/Installation

  1. Perform the headliner preparation. (See HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
  2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
  3. Remove the following parts:
    1. Front map light (See FRONT MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
    2. Sun visor (See SUN VISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Assist handle (See ASSIST HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
    5. Front seat belt lower anchor (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. B-pillar upper trim (See B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Rear package tray (See REAR PACKAGE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Trunk side upper trim (See TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. C-pillar trim (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Shift lever knob (MTX)
    11. Selector lever knob (ATX) (See SELECTOR LEVER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    12. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    13. Console side panel (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    14. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    15. Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    16. Cup holder (See CUP HOLDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    17. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    18. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
    19. Driver-side air bag module
    20. Steering wheel (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
    21. Sensor cover (See SENSOR COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    22. Rear vent duct No. 2 (with rear vent duct) (See REAR VENT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    23. Rear vent duct No. 1 (with rear vent duct) (See REAR VENT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    24. Rear console bracket No. 1 (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
    25. Headliner (See HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
    26. Glass panel (See GLASS PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Disconnect the sunroof motor connector. (See SUNROOF MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Disconnect the front drain hose and rear drain hose from the sunroof unit.

  6. Remove nuts (1) shown in the illustration.

  7. Remove the bolts shown in the illustration.
  8. Remove nuts (2) shown in the illustration.
    WARNING:
    • Support the sunroof unit before removing nut (2) and always perform the procedure with at least one other person to prevent the sunroof unit from falling. Otherwise, it may fall and cause injury.
  9. Remove the sunroof unit.
  10. Take the sunroof unit off from the front driver-side door or front passenger-side door opening.
  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
