Without Coolant Control Valve
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the front under cover No. 2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER NO. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the oil pressure switch.NOTE:
- Use the following SSTs in this inspection.
- 49 D019 908 (gauge)
- 49 D019 909 (hose)
- 49 D019 910 (adapter)
- 49 D019 911 (adapter)
- Install the SSTs to the oil pressure switch installation hole using the following procedure.
- Assemble SSTs 49 D019 908, 49 D019 909, and 49 D019 911 outside of the engine compartment beforehand.
- Install SST 49 D019 910 to the oil pressure switch installation hole.
- Install SST 49 D019 911 to the SST 49 D019 910.
- Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
- Run the engine at the specified speed, and note the gauge readings.
- If not within the specification, inspect for the cause and repair or replace if necessary.
NOTE:- The oil pressure can vary with oil viscosity, temperature and engine speed.
Oil pressure (reference value) (coolant temperature: 80-90°C {176-194°F})
Lo: 110-175 kPa {1.13-1.78 kgf/cm2 , 16.0-25.3 psi} (1, 500 RPM)
Hi: 300-430 kPa {3.06-4.38 kgf/cm2 , 43.6-62.3 psi} (4, 500 RPM)
- Stop the engine and wait until it is cools.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the SSTs.CAUTION:
- Verify that there is no sealant between 1.7-2.7 mm {0.07-0.10 in} from the end of the oil pressure switch to prevent a possible operation malfunction.
- When reusing the oil pressure switch, apply silicone sealant (TB1207B or equivalent) to the threads of the oil pressure switch.CAUTION:
- Install the oil pressure switch before the applied sealant starts to harden.
- Install the oil pressure switch.
Tightening torque
12-17 N.m {123-173 kgf.cm, 107-150 in.lbf}
- Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Start the engine and confirm that there is no oil leakage.
- If there is oil leakage, repair or replace the applicable part.
- Install the front under cover No. 2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER NO. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
