Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) Control Module Removal/Installation

NOTE:

The AFS control module stores the vehicle specification information.
A new AFS control module does not store any vehicle specification information.
When the ignition is switched ON after the AFS control module is replaced, the AFS control module reads the vehicle specification information sent via CAN transmission from the instrument cluster, and stores the vehicle specification information.
The AFS control module records the vehicle height while it is unoccupied.
Even if the battery is disconnected, the unoccupied vehicle height recorded by the AFS control module is not erased.
The new AFS control module does not record the vehicle height while it is unoccupied.
The AFS control module reads the vehicle height information from the auto leveling sensor and records the vehicle height while it is unoccupied when the headlight auto leveling system initial setting is performed after the AFS control module is replaced.

Disconnect the negative battery cable. (Refer to NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the following parts:
- Front scuff plate (LH) (Refer to FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front side trim (LH) (Refer to FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Hood release lever (Refer to HOOD RELEASE LEVER AND RELEASE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Fuel-filler lid opener lever (Refer to FUEL-FILLER LID OPENER AND LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Driver-side lower panel (Refer to DRIVER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Disconnect the connector.

Remove the nut.
Remove the AFS control module.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Perform the AFS control module automatic configuration using the following procedure.
1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 1 min or more.
2. Switch the ignition off and wait for 3 s or more .
3. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and complete the AFS control module automatic configuration.
Using the M-MDS, verify that DTCs U2300:54, U2300:55, or U2300:56 is not displayed.
- If DTC U2300:54, U2300:55, or U2300:56 is displayed, go to the DTC troubleshooting procedure. (Refer to DTC U2300:54 [ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE] .) (Refer to DTC U2300:55 [ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE] .) (Refer to DTC U2300:56 [ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) CONTROL MODULE] .)
If the AFS control module is replaced with a new one, perform the headlight auto leveling system initialization. (Refer to HEADLIGHT AUTO LEVELING SYSTEM INITIALIZATION .)
