Shift Panel Removal/Installation: MTX

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the shift lever knob. (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R] .)
- To prevent scratches or damage, apply protective tape to the position shown in the figure below.
- Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure below, move it in the direction of the arrow, and remove the clips.
- Hold the shaded areas of the boot shown in the figure below, pull it in the direction of the arrow, and detach clips.
- Remove the shift panel in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure below, while detaching guides.
- Disconnect the commander switch connector.
- Disconnect the electric parking brake switch connector.
- While pressing the tab in the directions of arrows (1) shown in the figure below, press it up in the direction of arrow (2) and detach the tabs from the shift panel.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.NOTE:
- When replacing the shift panel, remove the electric parking brake switch. (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- When replacing the shift panel, remove the commander switch. (See COMMANDER SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
