DTC U3000:54 [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE] DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection		Action
1	INSPECT REAR BUMPER SURFACE Visually inspect the rear bumper surface for the following: Dirt Adhered foreign material (reflective object) Is the rear bumper normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Remove dirt or foreign material (reflective object), then go to Step 5.
2	INSPECT AREA AROUND BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE Visually inspect the area around the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module for the following: Dirt Adhered foreign material (reflective object) Is the area around the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Remove dirt or foreign material (reflective object), then go to Step 5.
3	VERIFY CONTROL MODULE INSTALLATION CONDITION Inspect the following: Deformation of body or bracket around blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module Blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module installation condition Is the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module installed correctly?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part, then go to Step 5.
4	PERFORM BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) RADAR TEST Perform the blind spot monitoring (BSM) radar test. (See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) RADAR TEST .) Drive the vehicle. Retrieve the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE] .) Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Perform the blind spot monitoring (BSM) radar test again, then go to the next step. (See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) RADAR TEST .)
4		No	Go to Step 6.
5	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED Clear the DTC for the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE] .) Drive the vehicle. Retrieve the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE] .) Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module. (See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Go to the next step.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE] .)
6		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
