1 INSPECT VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) AND BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR MALFUNCTION
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM) and the body control module (BCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Is a DTC related to an internal malfunction or parking assist unit (ultrasonic) power supply malfunction displayed?
Yes Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (US)] .)
(See DTC TABLE [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) (US)] .)
No Go to the next step.
2 VERIFY FRONT BUMPER EXTERNAL APPEARANCE AND INSTALLATION CONDITION
  • Verify the external appearance and installation condition of the applicable part. (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
  • Are the external appearance and the installation condition normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location, or install the applicable part correctly and perform the repair completion verification.
(See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
3 INSPECT PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC) (2A-2R TERMINAL) CONNECTOR FOR MALFUNCTION
  • Inspect the applicable connector and terminal. (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  • Are the connector and terminal normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
4 VERIFY PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC) VOLTAGE
Yes Go to the next step.
No Replace the parking assist unit (ultrasonic) and perform the repair completion verification.
(See PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
5 INSPECT FRONT ULTRASONIC SENSOR CONNECTOR FOR MALFUNCTION
  • Inspect the applicable connector and terminal. (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  • Are the connector and terminal normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
6 INSPECT POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE FROM PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC)
Yes Go to Step 9.
No Go to the next step.
7 INSPECT FRONT ULTRASONIC SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
  • Inspect the applicable circuit for a short to ground. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .)
  • Is the circuit normal?
Yes Go to the next step.

  • Is the circuit normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
9 INSPECT FRONT ULTRASONIC SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION
  • Connect the parking assist unit (ultrasonic) connector.
  • Perform the following procedure for each front ultrasonic sensor.
    1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
    2. If there is a connected front ultrasonic sensor connector, disconnect it.
    3. Connect any one of the front ultrasonic sensor connectors.
    4. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
    5. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
    6. Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .)
    7. Verify if the same DTC is displayed.
  • Is the same Pending DTC present for all the sensors?
Yes
NOTE:
  • If DTC B1B58:49 has been completed, go to the next step.
Rear ultrasonic sensor can be considered the cause.Repair the malfunctioning location according to the DTC B1B58:49 troubleshooting.(See DTC B1B58:49 [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE] .)
No Repair or replace the sensor connected when the DTC is displayed, and perform the repair completion verification.
(See FRONT ULTRASONIC SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
10 INSPECT PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC) FOR MALFUNCTION DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY
  • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the vehicle control module (VCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW (US) .)
If the CAN communication is normal, replace the parking assist unit (ultrasonic) and perform the repair completion verification.
(See PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
No Perform the [ACTION FOR NON-REPEATABLE MALFUNCTIONS]. (See TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE (US) .)
If DTC is displayed
  • Repeat the diagnosis from Step 1.

    If DTC is not displayed

  • Go to repair completion verification 2.
