DTC U2300:56 [TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT] DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	INSPECT BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR MALFUNCTION Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .) Is a DTC related to body control module (BCM) communication error or internal malfunction displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) (US)] .)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT REPLACEMENT RECORD Verify if the telematics communication unit has been replaced before performing this troubleshooting procedure. Has the telematics communication unit been replaced?	Yes	After implementing the required servicing according to procedure when replacing a module, perform the repair completion verification. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION IS CAUSED BY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION ERROR Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 30 s or more. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .) Perform the DTC inspection for the telematics communication unit. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Go to repair completion verification.
4	VERIFY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) CONFIGURATION RELATED DTCs Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .) Perform the DTC inspection for the telematics communication unit. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Is a configuration related DTC displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) (US)] .)
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION LINE Perform an inspection in accordance with the multiplex communication system diagnostic procedure. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW (US) .) Is the CAN communication line normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW (US) .)
6	RESET CONFIGURATION DATA FOR BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) Using the M-MDS, perform the body control module (BCM) configuration. (See CONFIGURATION .) Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .) Perform the DTC inspection for the telematics communication unit. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	If a configuration related DTC is displayed on other modules simultaneously Replace the body control module (BCM) and perform the repair completion verification. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) If a configuration related DTC is not displayed on other modules simultaneously Replace the telematics communication unit and perform the repair completion verification. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
6		No	Go to repair completion verification.
Repair completion verification	VERIFY IF OTHER DTC IS DISPLAYED Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
Repair completion verification		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
