Operating Inspection

- Verify that the engine starts only when the selector lever is in the P position or N position with the brake pedal depressed and that the engine does not start with the selector lever in other positions.
- If there is any malfunction, adjust the TR switch. (See TRANSMISSION RANGE (TR) SWITCH ADJUSTMENT .)
- Verify that the back-up lights turn on and the R position warning alarm sound is activated only when the selector lever is in the R position. In addition, verify that they do not operate in other positions.
- If there is any malfunction, adjust the TR switch. (See TRANSMISSION RANGE (TR) SWITCH ADJUSTMENT .)
- Shift the selector lever and verify that the shift position indication and selector lever position match.
