Occupancy Sensor Inspection

WARNING:
- Handling a seat equipped with a side air bag improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings/cautions in the Service Information before handling the seat (side air bag integrated). - If the sliding mechanisms on both sides are not locked after assembling the seat, the seat will operate accidentally while the vehicle is driven, which could result in serious injury. After assembling the seat, shake it up and down and verify that the sliding mechanism on the both sides are locked.
NOTE:
- If cargo is put on the sensor detection area of the occupancy sensor, the sensor may respond.
- Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the passenger-side seat. (See SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the occupancy sensor connector.
- Verify that the continuity between the occupancy sensor terminals is as indicated in the table.
- If not as indicated in the table, replace the passenger-side seat cushion pad. (See SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
