Steering Warmer Control Unit Removal/Installation

WARNING:
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. For vehicles without steering shift switches, remove the following parts.
    1. Lower column cover (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.] .) (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.] .)
    3. Steering switch (See STEERING SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Steering wheel bezel (See STEERING WHEEL BEZEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Screws

  3. For vehicles with steering shift switches, remove the following parts.
    1. Driver-Side Air Bag Module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.] .) (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.] .)
    2. Steering Switch (See STEERING SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Steering Wheel Bezel (See STEERING WHEEL BEZEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Steering Wheel (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Steering Shift Switch (See STEERING SHIFT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FW6A-EL] .)
  4. While pressing the tabs of the Steering Wheel Cover in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press the Steering Wheel Cover in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the tabs of the Steering Wheel Cover from the Steering Wheel.

  5. Disconnect the Steering Warmer Control Unit Connector.

  6. Remove the screws.
  7. Remove the Steering Warmer Control Unit wiring harness from the hook of the Steering Wheel Cover.
  8. Remove the Steering Warmer Control Unit.
  9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
