Continuity Inspection
NOTE:
- The up position switch is built into the selector lever component.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION ).
- Remove the following parts:
- Selector lever knob (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM Removal/Installation ).
- Shift panel component (See SHIFT PANEL Removal/Installation ).
- Disconnect the selector lever component connector.
- Verify that the continuity between selector lever component terminals C and H.

- If not as verified, replace the selector lever component. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM Removal/Installation ).
Up switch specification
Test condition Continuity Selector lever is in the M position (+) side position. Continuity Selector lever is not in the M position (+) side position. No continuity
