Continuity Inspection
NOTE:
- The up switch is built into the selector lever component.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the selector lever knob. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Center console tray (See CENTER CONSOLE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift bezel (See SHIFT BEZEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Console side panel (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- CD player (See CD PLAYER REMOVAL .) (See CD PLAYER INSTALLATION .)
- Front console (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the selector lever component connector.
- Verify that the continuity between selector lever component terminals C and H.
- If not as verified, replace the selector lever component. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
