Intake Manifold Vacuum Inspection

Remove the purge solenoid valve from the intake manifold, then install the vacuum gauge to the intake manifold. (See PURGE SOLENOID VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
Verify that the intake air hoses are installed securely.
Warm up the engine.
Measure the intake manifold vacuum while idling (no load) using the vacuum gauge.
- If not within the specification, perform the following inspections.
  - Compression pressure (See COMPRESSION INSPECTION ).
  - Check valve (in the vacuum line) (See VACUUM LINE INSPECTION ).
  - Air suction
- Installation areas of each vacuum hose
- Evaporative hose connecting part
- Installation area of throttle body
- Installation area of fuel injector
- Installation area of PCV valve
- Installation area of intake manifold
