Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	INSPECT OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR CONNECTOR WARNING: Handling the component parts improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings/cautions and the service information before handling the air bag system components. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) Switch the ignition to off. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more . (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .) Disconnect the occupant classification sensor connector. (See OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) Is there any malfunction of the occupant classification sensor connector or seat connector?	Yes	Replace the malfunctioning part, then go to Step 5.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND Occupant classification sensor and fuse block connectors are disconnected. Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side): SAS control module connector terminal 3B SAS control module connector terminal 3C NOTE: Inspect for continuity while shaking the wiring harness between the SAS control module and occupant classification sensor. Is there continuity?	Yes	Replace the wiring harness for a possible short to ground, then go to Step 5.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT Occupant classification sensor and fuse block connectors are disconnected. Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side): Occupant classification sensor terminal 3D-SAS control module connector terminal 3B Occupant classification sensor terminal 3C-SAS control module connector terminal 3C NOTE: Inspect for continuity while shaking the wiring harness between the SAS control module and occupant classification sensor. Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Replace the wiring harness for a possible open circuit, then go to Step 5.
4	INSPECT OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY Occupant classification sensor and fuse block connectors are disconnected. Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on). Measure the voltage at the following terminals (wiring harness-side): SAS control module connector terminal 3B SAS control module connector terminal 3C NOTE: Measure the voltage while shaking the wiring harness between the SAS control module and occupant classification sensor. Is the voltage 0V ?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Replace the wiring harness for a possible short to power supply, then go to the next step.
5	INSPECT OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR Inspect the occupant classification sensor. (See OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR INSPECTION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) Is the voltage of each terminal normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Repair or replace the wiring harness or connector, then go to the next step.
6	PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION Reconnect the disconnected connectors. Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on). Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the MMDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) Are DTCs B00A0:81, B00A0:87 displayed?	Yes	Replace the occupant classification sensor. (See FRONT SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Then go to the next step.
6		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
7	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED Clear DTCs using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) Verify DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) Are DTCs B00A0:81, B00A0:87 displayed?	Yes	Replace the SAS control module. (See SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .)
7		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
