DTC C1A96 62: Brake Switch Malfunction: Notes

DTC C1A96:62 (VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location  Brake switch malfunction 
Detection condition 
  • The vehicle control module detects that the brake switch signal and the brake fluid pressure value are incompatible.
Fail-safe 
  • Inhibits the Mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system control
  • Inhibits the forward obstruction warning (FOW) system control
Possible cause 
  • Brake switch malfunction
  • Malfunction in circuit between brake switch and PCM and PCM
  • DSC HU/CM malfunction
  • Signal error in circuit between PCM and vehicle control module (V/C-module)
  • Signal error in circuit between DSC HU/CM and vehicle control module (V/C-module)
  • Vehicle control module (V/C-module) malfunction
