Cylinder Head Gasket Replacement: Notes
WARNING:
- Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can very easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel.
- Fuel line spills and leakage are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedure". (See BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION .)
- Remove the generator, but do not remove it from the vehicle. Fix the generator using a rope to prevent it from falling. (See GENERATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Set the exhaust manifold out of the way. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the intake manifold. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
- Disconnect the upper radiator hose. (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the water hose. (See THERMOSTAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the heater hose. (See A/C UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the timing chain. (See TIMING CHAIN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the wiring harness.
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Bleed the air from the cooling system. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
- Inspect the compression. (See COMPRESSION INSPECTION .)
