Seat Warmer Unit Installation
WARNING:
- Handling a front seat (with built-in side air bag) improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings before handling a front seat (with built-in side air bag). (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS .)
CAUTION:
- After removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever. If the slider lever is operated, the left and right slide positions will deviate, and the slide adjuster may be damaged after the front seat is installed.
- Verify that there are no malfunctions in the sliding mechanism after installing a front seat.
- When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean rag so as not to damage or soil the seat.
- If any of the following work is performed, perform the seat weight sensor calibration using the M-MDS. (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CALIBRATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .)
- Replacement with a new seat weight sensor
- Replacement with a new seat weight sensor control module
- Replacement with new passenger-side seat parts
- Disassembly of the passenger-side seat
- If any of the following work is performed, perform the seat weight sensor inspection using the M-MDS. (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR INSPECTION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .)
- Removal of the passenger-side seat
- Loosening and retightening of passenger-side seat fixing bolts
- Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK).
- Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min or more.
- Remove the following parts:
- Front seat (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front seat belt anchor cover (passenger-side only) (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front seat belt lower anchor installation bolt (passenger-side only) (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front seat side cover (See FRONT SEAT SIDE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front seat back trim (See FRONT SEAT BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front seat cushion trim (See FRONT SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Peel the tape backing of double-sided adhesive tape.
- Stick the seat warmer unit onto the seat pad shown in the figure.
- Install the following parts:
- Front seat cushion trim (See FRONT SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front seat back trim (See FRONT SEAT BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front seat (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front seat side cover (See FRONT SEAT SIDE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Inspect the seat warmer unit. (See SEAT WARMER UNIT INSPECTION .)
