Shift-Lock Solenoid Inspection

NOTE:
  • The shift-lock solenoid is built into the selector lever component.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL .) (See UPPER PANEL INSTALLATION .)
    2. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Selector lever knob (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Front console box (without electric parking brake) (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. CD player (with CD player) (See CD PLAYER REMOVAL .) (See CD PLAYER INSTALLATION .)
    7. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Front console (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Reconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  4. Verify that the voltages of each of the selector lever component terminals are as indicated in the table.

    Shift-lock solenoid specification 

    Terminal Connected to Test condition Voltage (V)
    A IG1 relay Ignition switched ON (engine on) B+
    Except above Below 1.0
    H Start stop unit Under any condition Below 1.0
