Selector Lever Inspection

Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
Perform the following procedures to inspect the selector lever.
- If there is any malfunction, adjust the TR switch. (See TRANSMISSION RANGE (TR) SWITCH ADJUSTMENT [SJ6A-EL] .)
1. Verify that the selector lever can be operated as shown in the figure.

2. Verify that the selector lever can be operated smoothly and moderately.
3. Shift the selector lever and verify that the shift position indication and selector lever position match.
4. Start the engine and verify that the vehicle drives forward when in the D position and drives in reverse when in the R position.
