Rear Stabilizer Installation (2WD): Notes

CAUTION:

Install the rear stabilizer being careful for the following so as not to decrease the functionality of the rear stabilizer.
- Do not apply grease to the rear stabilizer bushing and rear stabilizer contact area.
- Verify that there is no dirt or oil on the front stabilizer bushing and the rear stabilizer.
  - Wipe off any dirt or oil using a clean rag.

Install the rear stabilizer bushing with the slit pointing toward the front of the vehicle.

Install the rear stabilizer bracket to the front stabilizer bushing by hand using the following procedure.
During rear stabilizer bracket installation, keep the deviation in the positions of the rear stabilizer bracket and the rear stabilizer bushing within the range shown in the figure. (Refer to REAR STABILIZER BRACKET INSTALLATION NOTE .)

- W¹ : 0.5 mm {0.02 in} max.
- W² : 2 mm {0.08 in} max.
After installing the rear stabilizer bracket, verify that the positions of the rear stabilizer bracket and the rear stabilizer bushing are within the range shown in the figure.

- H¹ : 13 mm {0.51 in} max.
- H² : 13 mm {0.51 in} max.
After installing the rear stabilizer bracket, verify that the right and left-side positions of the rear stabilizer bracket are within the range shown in the figure.

- H³ : 3 mm {0.1 in} max.
Place the rear stabilizer component on a level workbench, and verify that it is within the range shown in the figure.

- H⁴ : 61.5-81.5 mm {2.43-3.20 in}
Install the rear stabilizer component as shown in the figure.

Assembly the rear stabilizer component so that the identification mark is on the right side of the vehicle.

Temporarily tighten nuts A and B shown in the figure.

Tighten nut A.
Tightening torque
- 21-26 N.m {2.2-2.6 kgf.m, 16-19 ft.lbf}
Tighten nut B.
Tightening torque
- 21-26 N.m {2.2-2.6 kgf.m, 16-19 ft.lbf}
Tighten nut A.
Tightening torque
- 21-26 N.m {2.2-2.6 kgf.m, 16-19 ft.lbf}
Install the rear stabilizer control link.
