Diagnostic Procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY Verify related Service Information availability. Is any related Service Information available?	Yes	Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Information. If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY DTC FOR MODULE COMMUNICATION Switch the ignition off, then ON (engine off). Perform the DTC Reading Procedure. (Refer to ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .) Are any other PENDING Codes and/or DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable PENDING CODE or DTC inspection. (Refer to DTC TABLE [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	CONFIRM FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM) DTC Perform the front body control module (FBCM) DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (Refer to DTC INSPECTION [FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM)] .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (Refer to DTC TABLE [FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM)] .)
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	CONFIRM VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C-MODULE) DTC Perform the vehicle control module (V/C-module) DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (Refer to DTC INSPECTION [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C MODULE)] .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (Refer to DTC TABLE [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C MODULE)] .)
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	INSPECT VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C-MODULE) CONNECTOR CONDITION Switch the ignition off. Disconnect the vehicle control module (V/C-module) connector. Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion). Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 7.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR CONDITION Disconnect the PCM connector. Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion). Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to the next step.
6		No	Vehicle control module (V/C-module) can be considered the cause. Replace the vehicle control module (V/C-module), then go to the next step. (Refer to VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/CMODULE) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL (MRCC) SYSTEM] .)
7	VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED Always reconnect all disconnected connectors. Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS. (Refer to CLEARING DTC [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .) Implement the repeatability verification procedure. (Refer to REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .) Perform the DTC Reading Procedure. (Refer to ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .) Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM. (Refer to PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .) Go to the next step.
7		No	Go to the next step.
8	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE Perform the "AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE". (Refer to AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (Refer to DTC TABLE [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
8		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
