Steering Shift Switch Inspection
- Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Connect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF] .)
- Disconnect the audio control switch connector. (See AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Measure resistance between the terminals F and C.RESISTANCE REFERENCE
Test condition Resistance (ohm) Action Steering shift switch is released 1, 764-1, 836 - Replace the audio control switch.

LH up-switch is depressed 352.8-367.2 - If not within the specification, replace the audio control switch.
(See AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH INSPECTION .)
- If there is no continuity, replace the up switch.

RH up-switch is depressed 352.8-367.2 LH down-switch is depressed 607.6-632.4 - Replace the audio control switch.

RH down-switch is depressed 607.6-632.4 - Replace the audio control switch.
