Oil Seal Replacement
CAUTION:
- Do not touch the splines of the drive shaft and joint shaft because oil seal could be damaged easily.
- Remove the aerodynamic under cover. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the front splash shield. (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Drain the ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)
- Disconnect the drive shaft (LH) from the transaxle. (See DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the drive shaft (RH) from the joint shaft. (See DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the joint shaft. (See JOINT SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the oil seal using a flathead screwdriver.
- Install a new oil seal to the specified position using the SSTs and a hammer.
- Apply transaxle oil to the oil seal lip.
- Install the joint shaft. (See JOINT SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Install the drive shaft (RH) to the joint shaft. (See DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Install the drive shaft (LH) to the transaxle. (See DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Add ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)
- Install the front splash shield. (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Install the aerodynamic under cover. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Perform the mechanical system test. (See MECHANICAL SYSTEM TEST .)
