Driver-Side Air Bag Module Removal/Installation [Two-Step Deployment Control System]: Removal

- Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more . (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
- Verify the service hole on the back side of the steering wheel shown in the figure.
- Insert the tool from the service hole.NOTE:
- Recommended tool
- HEX driver (diam. 3)
- Recommended tool
- Press the snap springs to disengage them from the pins using the inserted tool.

CAUTION:- Hold the driver-side air bag module when releasing its securement. Otherwise, it may fall off and be damaged.
- Using a flathead screwdriver, lift the locking device carefully, however do not remove it.
- Disconnect the air bag module connector.
- Disconnect the horn switch connector.
- Remove the driver-side air bag module.
