Generator Removal/Installation: Notes
WARNING:
- Remove and install all parts when the engine is cold, otherwise they can cause severe burns or serious injury.
- When the battery cables are connected, touching the vehicle body with generator terminal B will generate sparks. This can cause personal injury, fire, and damage to the electrical components. Always disconnect the negative battery cable before performing the following operation.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
- Remove the air cleaner and fresh air duct component. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the cooling fan component. (See COOLING FAN COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the front splash shield (RH).
- Remove the generator and A/C drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove in the order indicated in the table in the illustration.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Refill the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
- Inspect for engine coolant leakage. (See ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INSPECTION .)
