Secondary Control Valve Body On-Vehicle Removal

WARNING:
  • Do not perform the servicing while the ATF is hot. Otherwise, it could cause severe burns or serious injury.
  • Always wear protective eye wear when using the air compressor. If the air compressor is used, any particles of dirt or soiling could spatter and get into the eyes.
CAUTION:
  • Do not allow foreign material or water to penetrate the connector. Otherwise, it could cause poor contact and corrosion.
  1. Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the battery. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Remove the aerodynamic under cover. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Clean the outside of the transaxle using steam or detergent oil.
  7. Drain the ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)
  8. Disconnect the solenoid valve connector.

  9. Remove the bolts and GND shown below and remove the secondary control valve body.

  10. Remove the tubular pin and O-rings.
