Primary Control Valve Body On-Vehicle Removal

WARNING:
  • Do not perform the servicing while the ATF is hot. Otherwise, it could cause severe burns or serious injury.
  • Always wear protective eye wear when using the air compressor. If the air compressor is used, any particles of dirt or soiling could spatter and get into the eyes.
CAUTION:
  • Do not allow foreign material or water to penetrate the connector. Otherwise, it could cause poor contact and corrosion.
  1. Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the aerodynamic under cover. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Clean the outside of the transaxle using steam or detergent oil.
  5. Drain the ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)
  6. Remove the oil pan.
  7. Disconnect the solenoid valve connector and GND.

  8. Disconnect the TFT sensor from the oil strainer.
  9. Remove the oil strainer.
  10. Remove the bolts shown below and remove the primary control valve body.

  11. Remove the accumulator and accumulator spring.
