Steering Shift Switch Inspection: Notes

Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM] .) Disconnect the steering shift switch wiring harness connector.
Remove the column cover. (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

Using a precision flathead screwdriver, release the tab.

Measure the continuity between steering shift switch wiring harness connector terminals A-B and terminals D-E.
