Front Console Removal/Installation

CAUTION:
  • If work using protective tape is performed in an area where the temperature can increase drastically or the protective tape is left adhered for a long period of time, tape adhesive could remain area where the protective tape was applied when the it is peeled off. When applying protective tape, avoid areas where the temperature of the tape can increase drastically and peel off the protective tape soon after the work is completed.
  1. Affix protective tape to the position shown in the figure.

  2. Set the wheel blocks for both the front and rear wheels.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See 01-17-11 NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-0 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)
  4. Shift the selector lever from the P position to the D position (ATX).
  5. Remove the following parts:
    1. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL ) (See UPPER PANEL INSTALLATION .)
    2. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Shift lever knob (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R] .)
    4. Selector lever knob (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. CD player (with CD player) (See CD PLAYER REMOVAL .) (See CD PLAYER INSTALLATION .)
    8. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Remove fasteners.

  7. Pull the front console in the direction of the arrow in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4) and remove it while detaching clips A, clips B.

  8. Operate the parking lever, move the front console in the direction of arrow (5), and remove the front console while setting the parking brake lever aside.

  9. Disconnect the auxiliary jack/USB port connector, (without center display and without CD player)
  10. Disconnect the front accessory socket connector, (without center display and without CD player)
  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
