Instrument Cluster Removal/Installation
CAUTION:
- When replacing the instrument cluster, always perform the configuration procedure before removing the instrument cluster. Replacing the instrument cluster without performing the configuration procedure will result in a system malfunction.
- When replacing the instrument cluster, perform the configuration. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONFIGURATION .)
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Lower the steering wheel to the bottommost position.
- Pull the telescoping portion of the steering column to the end position.
- Remove the upper column cover. (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Affix protective tape to the position shown in the figure.
- Remove the screw.
- Pull the instrument cluster in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and pull out it while detaching the clips.
- Tilt the instrument cluster in the direction of the arrow.
CAUTION:
- Remove the instrument cluster while avoiding the steering wheel or switch panel. Otherwise, the instrument cluster could hit the steering wheel or switch panel and cause a damage.
- Remove the instrument cluster.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- If the instrument cluster is replaced, program the immobilizer system-related parts.
