Heated Oxygen Sensor (Ho2S) And Catalyst Monitor Sensor Removal/Installation - Hybrid: Removal/Installation
Both Sensors
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See LIFTING .
- Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) and the catalyst monitor sensor (CMS) electrical connectors.
HO2S
NOTE:- If necessary, lubricate the sensor threads with penetrating and lock lubricant to assist in removal.
- Using the Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor Socket, remove the HO2S.
- Calculate the correct torque wrench setting for the following torque.
- To install, tighten to 48 N.m {4.9 kgf.m, 35 ft.lbf}.
CMS
NOTE:- If necessary, lubricate the sensor threads with penetrating and lock lubricant to assist in removal.
- Using the Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor Socket, remove the CMS.
- Calculate the correct torque wrench setting for the following torque.
- To install, tighten to 48 N.m {4.9 kgf.m, 35 ft.lbf}.
Both sensors
NOTE:- Apply a light coat of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the HO2S and the CMS.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
