Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Removal/Installation - 2.5L: Installation

  1. Install a 6 mm x 18 mm bolt through the crankshaft pulley and thread it into the front cover.
    CAUTION:
    • Only hand-tighten the bolt or damage to the front cower can occur.

  2. Install the CKP sensor and the 2 bolts.
    • Do not tighten the bolts at this time.

  3. Adjust the CKP sensor with the Crankshaft Sensor Aligner.
    • Tighten the 2 bolts to 7 N.m {0.7 kgf.m, 62 in.lbf}.

  4. Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the 6 mm x 18 mm bolt from the crankshaft pulley.

  6. Install the engine plug bolt.
    • Tighten to 20 N.m {2.0 kgf.m, 177 in.lbf}.
  7. Install the RH splash shield, 5 bolts and the pin-type retainer (not shown in illustration).
    • Tighten to 9 N.m {0.9 kgf.m, 80 in.lbf}.
  8. Using the scan tool, carry out the Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile Correction procedure, following the onscreen instructions.
