Manual Transaxle Removal/Installation [G66M-R]: Notes

Disconnect the negative battery cable
Remove the following parts:
1. Battery and battery tray. See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5] .
2. Air cleaner component. See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5] .
3. Wheels, tires and splash shields
4. Plug hole plate. See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5] .
5. Aerodynamic undercover No. 2. See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
6. Aerodynamic undercover No 1. See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO. 1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
7. Tunnel member. See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5] .
Remove the hanger on the middle pipe side as shown in the figure and set the hanger aside.
Remove the steering gear and linkage, and pipe assembly installation bolts from the front crossmember, then suspend the steering gear and linkage with a cable. See STEERING GEAR AND LINKAGE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5] .
Pipe assembly tightening torque

8-10 N.m {80-110 kgf.cm, 70-95 in.lbf}

Drain the transaxle oil into a suitable container.
WARNING:
- Improperly jacking a transaxle is dangerous. It can slip off the jack and may cause serious injury.
Remove in the order indicated in the table.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Add the specified amount of specified transaxle oil. See TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT [G66M-R] .
NOTE:
- If the transaxle is overhauled and installed to the vehicle, perform the 'INSPECTION AFTER TRANSAXLE INSTALLATION' and verify that there is no abnormality. See INSPECTION AFTER TRANSAXLE INSTALLATION [G66M-R] .
