Console Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Shift knob (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Selector lever knob (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the bolts.

  4. Remove the screws.

  5. Pull the console in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration, then detaching clips A, C hooks B and guides D.

  6. Pull up the console in the direction of the arrow (1) shown in the illustration, move the rear console in the direction of the arrow (2), and remove it avoiding the parking brake lever.

  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
