DTC DETECTION CONDITION POSSIBLE COUSES CHART

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	NOTE: If unable to access the PCM DTCs, or a scan tool communication concern exists, see UNABLE TO ACTIVATE SELF-TEST/NETWORK COMMUNICATION ERROR01-01A-522. RECORD CONTINUOUS MEMORY DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA (FFD) Connect IDS or equivalent tester to the Data Link Connector (DLC). Key ON, engine OFF (KOEO). Retrieve all stored DTCs. Are any DTCs present?	Yes	RECORD ALL stored DTCs (Continuous Memory DTC) and Freeze Frame Data (FFD) on repair order. GO to the next step.
1		No	GO to the next step.
2	VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY Check for related Service Bulletins and/or on-line repair information availability. Is any related repair information available?	Yes	CARRY OUT repair or diagnosis according to available repair information. If vehicle is not repaired, GO to the next step.
2		No	GO to the next step.
3	CARRY OUT THE KEY ON, ENGINE OFF (KOEO) SELF-TEST Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Key ON, engine OFF (KOEO). Turn off all electrical loads. Activate KOEO On Demand Self-Test using IDS or equivalent tester Diagnostic Test Modes. Are any KOEO DTCs (except P1000) present?	Yes	REPAIR KOEO DTC. GO to applicable DTC troubleshooting procedure. See DTC INDEX - PCM .
3		No	GO to the next step.
4	CARRY OUT THE KEY ON, ENGINE RUNNING (KOER) SELF-TEST Key ON, engine running (KOER). Activate KOER On Demand Self-Test using IDS or equivalent tester Diagnostic Test Modes. Are any KOER DTCs (except P1000) present?	Yes	REPAIR KOEO DTC. GO to applicable DTC troubleshooting procedure. See DTC INDEX - PCM .
4		No	If continuous memory DTC was present at step 1, see DTC INDEX - PCM . If Continuous Memory DTC was not present at step 1, see SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART - ENGINE .
