- Unauthorized modifications and/or alterations to the vehicle
- EVAP system fresh air tube plugged (dirt, spider webbing)
HINT
- An FTP voltage PID reading greater than 4.85 volts in key ON, engine OFF or key ON, engine running indicates a concern is present.
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE CHART
| PINPOINT TEST 4 | SLOW TO FILL | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| STEP | INSPECTION | ACTION | |
| 1 | CARRY OUT INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION
|
Yes | REPAIR or INSTALL new components to correct the concern. |
| No | GO to the next step. | ||
| 2 | CHECK THE SYSTEM FOR ANY EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) DTCs
|
Yes | For DTC P0446, see EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER PURGE SOLENOID MALFUNCTION
. For DTC P0451 and/or P0461 are present, See TEST 3: INTERMITTENT
. Otherwise, REPAIR all other DTCs present and DISREGARD DTC P0451 and/or DTC P0461. For DTC P0452, see DTC P0452: FUEL TANK PRESSURE (FTP) SENSOR MALFUNCTION . For DTC P0453, see DTC P0453: FUEL TANK PRESSURE (FTP) SENSOR MALFUNCTION . For DTC P0454, see DTC P0451: EVAP SYSTEM MALFUNCTION . For DTC P1443, see DTCS P0455 AND P1443: EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) SYSTEM MALFUNCTION . For DTC P1450, see EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) MONITOR AND SYSTEM . For DTC P1451, see CANISTER VENT (CV) SOLENOID MALFUNCTION . For DTC P260F, see EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) MONITOR AND SYSTEM MALFUNCTION . |
| No | GO to the next step. | ||
| 3 | MONITOR THE FUEL TANK PRESSURE (FTP) WHILE FILLING THE FUEL TANK
|
Yes | GO to step 5. |
| No | GO to the next step. | ||
| 4 | MONITOR THE FTP WHILE FILLING THE FUEL TANK WITH THE EVAP SYSTEM DISCONNECTED
|
Yes | INSPECT the EVAP system for blockage or restrictions. REPAIR the blockage or restriction. If the blockage or restriction cannot be repaired, INSTALL new EVAP system components. |
| No | GO to the next step. | ||
| 5 | CHECK THE FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE ASSEMBLY FOR BLOCKAGE OR RESTRICTION
|
Yes | If possible, REPAIR the blockage or restriction. If the blockage or restriction cannot be repaired, INSTALL a new fuel tank filler pipe or fuel tank filler pipe vent tube (if equipped), see FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION . |
| No | GO to the next step. | ||
| 6 | CHECK THE FUEL TANK LEVEL SHUTOFF VALVE
|
Yes | If possible, REPAIR the restriction. If restriction cannot be repaired, INSTALL a new fuel tank. See FUEL TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION . |
| No | INSTALL a new fuel tank. See FUEL TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION . | ||
