Selector Lever Removal/Installation: Notes

Remove the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [13B-MSP] .)
Remove the battery cover.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the following parts.
1. Ashtray

2. Console
  (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Glove compartment
  (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4. Side panel
  (See SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
5. Lower panel
  (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
6. Column cover
  (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
7. Driver-side air bag module
  (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
8. Steering shaft
  (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
9. Instrument cluster
  (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
10. A-pillar trim

11. Dashboard

12. SAS control module

Shift the selector lever to the P position.
Remove in the order indicated in the table.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
After installation, carry out the shift lock inspection and key interlock inspection. (See SHIFT LOCK INSPECTION .)
