DTC P0134 [L3]: Notes

DTC P0134 (L3) DETECTION CONDITION & POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P0134 A/F sensor no activity detected
DETECTION CONDITION 
  • The PCM monitors the activation condition of the HO2S. If the non-activation condition of the HO2S continues for a fixed period of time, the PCM determines that the HO2S is not activating.

    MONITORING CONDITIONS 

    • A/F sensor, HO2S, A/F sensor heater, HO2S heater and TWC Repair Verification Drive Mode
    • Battery voltage: 10-18 V 

Diagnostic support note 
  • This is an intermittent monitor (A/F sensor, HO2S).
  • The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
  • PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • A/F sensor looseness
  • Leakage exhaust system
  • Open or short circuit in wiring harness between A/F sensor terminal D and PCM terminal 2AC
  • Open or short circuit in wiring harness between A/F sensor terminal B and PCM terminal 2AD
  • Open or short circuit in wiring harness between A/F sensor terminal F and PCM terminal 2Z
  • Open or short circuit in wiring harness between A/F sensor terminal E and PCM terminal 2A
  • A/F sensor malfunction
  • Engine malfunction (Leakage engine coolant)
  • Insufficient compression
  • PCM malfunction
