No.2 Additional Key Registration Procedure (Using the M-MDS) Conditions: Procedure

  1. Have one key (key 1) ready for registration.
  2. Using key 1, turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    NOTE:
    • Although the security light flashes and DTC 15 is displayed, this does not indicate an improper procedure. Continue to perform the procedure as indicated.
  3. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
  4. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initialization screen of the M-MDS.
    • When using the IDS (laptop PC)
      1. Select the "Body".
      2. Select the "Security".
      3. Select the "PATS Functions".
    • When using the PDS (Pocket PC)
      1. Select the "Programming".
      2. Select the TATS Functions".
  5. Then, select an item from the screen menu. "Program Additional ignition key".
  6. Perform security access as indicated on the M-MDS screen. (See NO.6 SECURITY ACCESS PROCEDURE .)
  7. Perform the procedure according to the directions on the screen.
