Variable Tumble Control System (VTCS) Shutter Valve Actuator Inspection

Disconnect vacuum hose from actuator. Connect a vacuum pump to actuator. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Watch actuator rod and slowly apply vacuum to actuator. See SHUTTER VALVE ACTUATOR VACUUM APPLICATION  table. If actuator does not operate as specified, replace actuator. If system is not working properly but actuator is okay, check vacuum lines.

NOTE: Perform VTCS solenoid check only when directed by SELF-DIAGNOSTICS testing.
