After Repair Procedure

CAUTION:
  • After repairing a malfunction, perform the following procedure to verify that the malfunction has been corrected.
  • When performing this procedure, be sure to drive the vehicle at lawful speed and pay attention to the other vehicles.
  1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2

  2. After the vehicle is identified, from the initial screen select the following items:
    • When using the IDS (laptop PC) 
      1. Select the "Toolbox" tab.
      2. Select "Self Test".
      3. Select "Modules".
      4. Select "PCM".
      5. Select "Retrieve CMDTCs".
    • When using the PDS (Pocket PC) 
      1. Select "Module Tests".
      2. Select "PCM".
      3. Select "Self Test".
      4. Select "Retrieve CMDTCs".
  3. Verify the DTC according to the directions on the screen.
  4. Press the clear button on the DTC screen to clear the DTC.
  5. Perform the following DTC inspections to ensure that the DTCs have been resolved, refer to DTC INSPECTIONS CHART .
  6. AFTER DTC INSPECTIONS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED  , Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.
  7. Make sure that the repaired DTC does not recur.
DTC INSPECTIONS CHART

  1. Start the engine
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle in D range at 20 km/h {12.4 mph} or more  for 100 s or more. 
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Drive the vehicle in D range at 20 km/h {12.4 mph} or more  for 100 s or more. 
  7. Go to Step 5.
P0711
  1. Start the engine then wait 180 s or more. 
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle in D range, at within 25-59 km/h {16-36 mph}  for 90 s or more. 
  4. Drive the vehicle in D range, at 60 km/h {37 mph}  for 60 s or more. 
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  6. Start the engine.
  7. Drive the vehicle in D range, at within 25-59 km/h {16-36 mph}  for 90 s or more. 
  8. Drive the vehicle in D range, at 60 km/h {37 mph} or more  for 60 s or more. 
  9. Go to Step 5.
P0712, P0713
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle in D range, at 20 km/h {12 mph} or more  for 150 s or more. 
  4. Go to Step 5.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle in D range, at 41 km/h {25 mph} or more  for 0.7 s or more. 
  4. Go to Step 5.
P0720
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 4.5 s or more. 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 1,500 RPM or more 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 1GR
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 4.5 s or more. 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 1,500 RPM or more 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 1GR
  7. Go to Step 5.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions 4 times or more.
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 1 GR
    • Accelerator opening angle (APP PID): 2.77 % or more 
  4. Go to Step 5.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions 3 times or more.
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 2GR
  4. Go to Step 5.

  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 3GR

  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 31 km/h {20 mph} or more 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 4GR
  4. Go to Step 5.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 5 s or more. 
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 60-100 km/h {38-62 mph} 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 4GR
  4. Go to Step 5.
P0742, P0772
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 70 km/h {43 mph} or less 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 4GR
    • Accelerator conditions
      • Accelerator opening angle (APP PID) is 6.25 % or more  and 5 s or more  have passed.
      • Accelerator opening angle (APP PID) is within 3.13-6.25 %  and 3 s or more  have passed.
      • Accelerator opening angle is at closed accelerator position and 5 s or more  have passed.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 70 km/h {43 mph} or less 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 4GR
    • Accelerator conditions
      • Accelerator opening angle (APP PID) is 6.25 % or more  and 5 s or more  have passed.
      • Accelerator opening angle (APP PID) is within 3.13-6.25 %  and 3 s or more  have passed.
      • Accelerator opening angle is at closed accelerator position and 5 s or more  have passed.
  7. Go to Step 5.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle in D range.
  4. Go to Step 5.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 15 s or more. 
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 46 km/h {29 mph} or more 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 4GR
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 15 s or more. 
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 46 km/h {29 mph} or more 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 4GR
  7. Go to Step 5.
P0752, P0753, P0758, P0763, P0768, P0773, P0841
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle in D range and make sure that the gears shift smoothly from 1GR to 4GR and TCC is operated.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Drive the vehicle in D range and make sure that the gears shift smoothly from 1GR to 4GR and TCC is operated.
  7. Go to Step 5.
P0756
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions 4 times or more.
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Accelerator opening angle (APP PID): 2.77 % or more 
    • Differential gear case (output) revolution speed (OSS PID): 35 RPM or more 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 1GR
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions 4 times or more
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Accelerator opening angle (APP PID): 2.77 % or more 
    • Differential gear case (output) revolution speed (OSS PID): 35 RPM or more 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 1GR
  7. Go to Step 5.
P0757, P0766
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 31 km/h {20 mph} or more 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Closed accelerator position
    • Differential gear case (output) revolution speed (OSS PID): 35 RPM or more 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 2GR and 4GR
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 31 km/h {20 mph} or more 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Closed accelerator position
    • Differential gear case (output) revolution speed (OSS PID): 35 RPM or more 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 2GR and 4GR
  7. Go to Step 5.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions 3 times or more.
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Accelerator opening angle (APP PID): 2.77 % or more 
    • Differential gear case (output) revolution speed (OSS PID): 35 RPM or more 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 1GR and 2GR
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions 3 times or more.
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Accelerator opening angle (APP PID): 2.77 % or more 
    • Differential gear case (output) revolution speed (OSS PID): 35 RPM or more 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 1GR and 2GR
  7. Go to Step 5.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 19 km/h {12 mph} or more 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Differential gear case (output) revolution speed (OSS PID): 35 RPM or more 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 3GR
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 19 km/h {12 mph} or more 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Differential gear case (output) revolution speed (OSS PID): 35 RPM or more 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 3GR
  7. Go to Step 5.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 5 s or more. 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 3GR
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 5 s or more. 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 3GR
  7. Go to Step 5.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 5 s or more. 
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 60-100 km/h {38-62 mph} 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 2254,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 4GR
    • Torque converter clutch (TCC) operating
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Start the engine.
  6. Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 5 s or more. 
    • Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 60-100 km/h {38-62 mph} 
    • Turbine speed (TSS PID): 225-4,987 RPM 
    • Selector lever position: D range, 4GR
    • Torque converter clutch (TCC) operating
  7. vii Go to Step 5.

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Warm up the engine and ATX.
  3. Depress the brake pedal.
  4. Closed accelerator position.
  5. Shift the selector lever from the N position to the D range and hold for 3 s or more. 
  6. Go to Step 6.
