Main Control Cover And Gasket: Installation

1. Position the main control cover gasket on the case.

2. Position the main control cover on the case and loosely install the bolts.

   NOTE:

   • Install the cooler bypass studs in locations 3 and 11.
3. Tighten the bolts in sequence as indicated.

4. Position the transmission fluid cooler tubes in place and install the bolt.

5. Install the lower radiator hose.

6. Connect the vent hose to the main control cover.

7. Install the battery tray bracket.

8. Connect the wiring harness to the battery tray bracket.
9. Install the battery tray. See BATTERY TRAY - 2.3L or BATTERY TRAY - 3.0L (4V) .
10. Fill the engine cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
11. Check the transaxle fluid, add fluid as necessary using MERCON® Automatic Transaxle Fluid (ATF).
12. Start the engine and move the transaxle range selector lever through all gear positions. Refill as necessary.
