Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .
  2. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. See IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER - FUNCTIONAL  or see IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER - NON FUNCTIONAL 
  3. If equipped, remove the tilt release lever/ handle.
  4. Remove the 3 steering column cover screws and upper and lower steering column shrouds.
  5. Disconnect the multi-function switch electrical connectors.
  6. Remove the 2 multi-function switch screws and the multi-function switch.
    • To install, tighten to 3 N-m (0.3 kgf-m, 27 in-lbf).
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
