DTC P2402: Notes

DTC P2402 DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P2402 EVAP system leak detection pump motor circuit high
DETECTION CONDITION 
  • The PCM monitors pump load current (EVAP line pressure), while EVAP leak monitor is operating. If the pump load current is higher than specified, the PCM determines EVAP system leak detection pump motor circuit has a malfunction.

Diagnostic support note 
  • This is a intermittent monitor (CCM).
  • MIL illuminates if PCM detects above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in PCM.
  • PENDING CODE is available if PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
  • DTC is stored in PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • EVAP system leak detection pump malfunction
  • Short to power supply between the EVAP system leak detection pump terminal D and PCM terminal 1U
  • PCM malfunction
