Pressure Regulator Control (PRC) Solenoid Valve

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2002 Mazda Protege5, 2002 Mazda Protege, 2002 Mazda Millenia, 2002 Mazda MX-5 Miata, and 2002 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: PRC solenoid valve is not used on Miata or MPV.

Disconnect vacuum hose from PRC solenoid valve. See PRC SOLENOID VALVE LOCATIONS  table. Apply air pressure to PRC solenoid valve port "B". See Fig 1 . Air should flow from port "C" only. Using fused jumper wires, apply battery voltage to solenoid terminals. Apply air pressure to PRC solenoid valve port "B". Air should flow through PRC solenoid valve air filter (port "A") only. If PRC solenoid valve operation is not as specified, replace valve.
