Generator Removal/Installation - 3.0L, 4.0L

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET TUBE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 3.0L or AIR CLEANER OUTLET TUBE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 4.0L .
  3. Remove the accessory drive belt. See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 3.0L or DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 4.0L .
  4. Remove the nut and disconnect the electrical connectors.

  5. Remove the wiring harness-to-generator pin-type retainer.
  6. Remove the stud bolt, the bolts and the generator.

  7. Install in reverse order of removal.
