DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles may exhibit A/C poor performance where the vent temperatures remain too warm for customers. The A/C system is also found to be working properly with the proper refrigerant charge and correct adjustment of the air mix, fresh, and mode controls.

The cause may be due to uneven airflow across the evaporator core, creating inefficient cooling.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

  1. Make sure the A/C system is determined to be operating correctly.
    • If the A/C system is working properly according to Workshop Manual specifications (section 07-10 REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST), proceed to Step 2.
    • If the A/C system is not working properly, proceed with appropriate diagnostics according to Workshop Manual (section 07-03 TROUBLESHOOTING INDEX).
  2. Record radio preset stations.
  3. Set ignition to LOCK position.
  4. Disconnect the battery negative cable for 1 min or more.
